Hello - I am a lover of the Cavalier breed, but I've just lost my beloved Missy (not yet 4 years) to sryngomyelia. What steps are you taking to avoid this problem in your dogs? I'd love to have another one, but I am so fearful of having to go through this heartbreak again.

I enjoyed browsing the photos of your beautiful Cavaliers. We have a Cavalier who will be ten years old this month and he is a cherished member of the family. He has grown up with our children, who are now in their late teens, always ready for a cuddle, or to play - whatever we're in the mood for, he's easy either way! A decade ago I spent weeks researching breeds to find the perfect one for our family - energetic but not high-strung, easygoing but not lazy, and most of all affectionate - I did not want a guard dog who would be territorial everytime someone new came to the door. We have never regreted our choice!
